First of all, I hope you are doing okay. That you are safe and healthy.

For nearly a full year now, I've been isolating and isolated on our farm in Central Massachusetts. I am grateful to be in a place of such beauty and serenity and have daily tasks and responsibilities that keep me busy.

I always imagined that with time and solitude, I would be able to write vast amounts. This year has taught me several things, not the least of which is anxiety is not a friend to creativity.

I have been pecking away at a new manuscript, but I've found it hard to make any real headway, despite being part of 2 weekly online writing groups. Mostly, I've been working on other creative persuits and the daily routine of work around the farm.

The words will be there. I have written enough over the years to know that sometimes our creativity needs a fallow time.

I hope you have been able to find something that nourishes your spirit this year.

What I have been focusing on this year is my pottery. I was able to find a used wheel and have access to drop off my work at a local studio for firing.
