I am so pleased to say that for the Fall term, I am the STAR Artist in Residence at the Eagle Hill School in Hardwick, MA.
I am extremely grateful for this opportunity.
This is a grant funded position and it exists to support artists at any stage in their careers as well as offers enrichment to the student community and opportunities to collaborate with teachers.
Thanks to the support of the school and the STAR program, I have already made tremendous progress in what I anticipate will be my final revision of LITANY FOR A BROKEN WORLD.
This is, in large part, thanks to the incredible and detailed edit I was given by Jill Shultz, a writer in one of my writing groups, who also is a wonderful developmental editor.
It's a rare and beautiful thing to have a colleague who sees what you hope your book can be and helps you to clarify and achieve that vision.
Sally's writing is that rare combination of clear-eyed and luminous. And always, layered with resonance. Her most recent collection OF BEING WOMAN contains a rich selection of feminist science fiction short stories, including:
A deep-learning fembot learns all that love is, with devastating results.
On a faraway asteroid, an indentured woman reclaims her humanity and inspires a revolution by sharing the stories of the new constellations she sees in the sky.
A young scientist creates an AI which she hopes will evolve beyond humanity and its malignity. But the AI has other ideas.
A nanophysician defies the worldwide medical cartel to solve the riddle of why healthy people are dying at an alarming rate.
