Audiobook update

The good news: The audiobook for "Litany" is complete and has been distributed to all the usual places audiobooks are offered for sale. And it sounds amazing. Sheree Galpert has an innate sense of this world and its characters. Her narration is exceptional. I'm not an audiobook person and there were times as I was reviewing the files that I completely became engrossed and forgot that I had written the story.

The not so great news? It takes time for an audiobook to be approved at any given retailer, and there's no way to know how long that will be and no way to influence the process.

However, if you don't want to wait for the audiobook to be live at your favorite retailer, you can buy it directly from me via Gumroad. Once purchased, you will have the choice between downloading/listening from Gumroad or via BookFunnel.

 New Release: "Two for Ghosting"

Taylor Connor (the alter-ego of the lovely "MM") has released her debut novel and it is utterly delightful. I have a soft spot for a good urban fantasy. Weirdness in a contemporary setting? Yes, please!

What is the book about? Eagle-eyed readers might recognize a certain author in the blurb quote on the graphic here. Yes, the book has romance, ghosts, cryptids, and magic and yes, I loved it. Connor has created a universe I want to return to and lucky for all of us, this will be a series and she's already drafting the next one.

Agent Jessalyn Archer has an exciting career investigating unusual events. Like cryptids. Or ghosts. Or unstable portals, like the one that swallowed her dad. Desperate to find him, she'll take any case that might provide a lead. So when a hockey team employee vanishes in a small Alberta town, Jess goes undercover.

Unfortunately for her plans, Riley Swift is also in town. The star hockey player who scored That Goal… and who ghosted her the second he got drafted. Sixteen years later, Jess is over her broken heart—and good thing, because Riley and his younger brother both seem to be tangled up in the case.

Suddenly, Jess's tidy investigation threatens to spiral out of control as she deals with doppelgängers, a yoga cult, and one very haunted hockey arena. Worse, the chemistry between her and Riley has rekindled like magic. But if Jess can’t uncover the secret he’s been keeping since they parted, it might be the whole town's future on the line, not just theirs.

"Two for Ghosting" is available now in ebook and paperback formats.

Writing Life

I'm making steady progress the 3rd and final book of Entangled Realities. This series may be the most complex work I've written. Definitely a challenge and definitely a rewarding one, though I am looking forward to my next project which will have fewer viewpoint characters and a single timeline. However, knowing me, it won't mean easier to write. LOL.

Speaking of looking forward...I'll be heading to Toronto in a little less than 2 weeks for a nearly week-long writing retreat with a group of my Writer Unboxed community friends. Writing is often such a solitary and isolating process. Being able to share your imaginary friends and create with other writers is a rare joy.

Statement on "AI" use

I do not and will not employ so called "AI" (e.g. Large Language Models/LLMs) in any part of my writing process. All of my work - poetry, fiction, and non fiction - is 100% human generated.  The tools I use in writing either do not have AI integrated or I have disabled it. I commission cover art from human artists.

I love to hear from readers! Let me know what you're reading and recommending or if you have any suggestions for what you'd like to see in future newsletters.

Thanks!
